It’s no secret that our favorite events are intimate backyard weddings.
The seclusion, the intimacy, and the comfort of being in someone’s backyard feels so much more special and real. Most backyard weddings take place in the parent’s home of the bride or groom. It’s the place where one of them grew up; and the memories and comfort of the home only add more emotion to the wedding. This wedding was more unique than most as the couple shared a gender reveal right after their ceremony.
We were more than obsessed with these adorable potted succulents, which served as thoughtful gifts for their guests.
Jake is a welder, and Alex wanted a ring that would not only be safe for him to wear, but was also unique. She got him a ring that was made from an old whiskey barrel, and it’s just as cool as it sounds.
Alex’s stunning flower crown incorporated even more succulents that matched their other details perfectly.
The bridesmaids were so much fun! They shared a celebratory shot (while Alex joined in with her bottle of water).
Even Murphy, the family dog and ring bearer, dressed up for the event.
The ceremony was small, sweet, and everything a wedding should be. Jake’s expression when he saw Alex is what every bride wants to see on their wedding day.
Alex’s mom Sandi was the Maid of Honor and her excitement was so endearing.
Jim, the officiant, is Alex’s grandfather. He officiated her parent’s wedding and now Alex and Jake’s as well.
After the ceremony, they were so excited to share their twins’ gender reveal!
A boy and a girl! Sandi’s face is everything.
There were hugs and tears all around.
We made sure to get this photo of Alex and Jake with Emilia and Will. Alex and Jake first met at Emilia and Will’s wedding.
The photo booth was an awesome feature that everyone loved.
The ‘shoe game’ was played with a tasteful exchange of their initials instead of shoes.
Congratulations, Alex and Jake!
We know you two are going to be amazing parents with the cutest family. We’re so happy that we were able to be a part of your Best Day Ever!
